Help! Saves disappeared!

Have been playing the game on Newgrounds...tried to download, but various error messages prevented me from succeeding in this.  Never thought to back up my save files in any fashion, because I had no reason to think I'd encounter a problem such as this one.  Updated Firefox and now all my save slots are blank.  No idea whether they're stored on my computer, nor where I should look.  No idea if there's any online backup of anything, nor where I'd look for that.  I read the "how to convert your online saves to offline saves" link on Newgrounds, but it requires technical knowledge beyond my abilities, the minute it told me to look in the control-shift-i thingywhatever, I couldn't even figure out the next step.  Are my saves gone forever, or is there a way to get them working again?

Unfortunately, it's unlikely you can get them back. Browser saves are really volatile. It'll be more reliable if you download the game to play it instead.

Alas, as I mentioned, that didn't work.  If there's any chance that they might be findable, do you have any idea where I should look?  I have the version of Windows that generally puts everything into AppData under your username, but I didn't see any file names in there that suggested LD or Newgrounds or anything.

They are stored in cache, which is different for each browser. You'd have to search for it in there.

Some more information that might be useful to you...since I can't get Newgrounds to load at all on Firefox most days (likely due to issues with the adblock that's built into that browser and possibly broken from the update), I tried using other browsers.  On Chrome it works adequately well, but Edge slows to a crawl while attempting to play the game, probably because of a certain animated ad that Newgrounds plays on the page below the game window.  And all three browsers appear to have separate save slots, which were blank before I started playing them...I still wonder if my old Firefox saves are just hidden somewhere, or if they've actually been deleted/overwritten.

Thanks for the info! Each of the browsers have their own caches, which is why your save file in one doesn't transfer to the others. If you dig inside of them, you might be able to find your old save file and transfer it manually, but it would take some experimenting

Glad to know there's some hope.  Unfortunately I have no idea where to look on my computer for the Firefox cache.  Is there any chance you can provide further guidance? I'll understand if that's a no, I just figured I should ask before giving up.

Unfortunately, I don't really know either, as I generally don't playtest using the browser version.

Well, the problem was taken out of my hands; regardless of anything anyone can do, my old saves are all completely gone, including the two I started to replace the old ones.  I wish I had some sort of developer console I could use to manually edit which flags in the game I previously triggered, but lacking anything like that, there's no getting back my progress.  And since I can't even remember my Newgrounds password, I may not bother trying to play at all.  Still, I want to to know that this was like the fourth best xxx game I've played, so you do good work and I will always fondly remember my brief time as one of your players.
