How can I always set force mono as default for new videos?

I'm evaluating the demo (v 7.4) for viewing content from povr[dot]com on my old quest 1. When playing video listed by the HereSphere API, it will play in stereo mode, and stuttering / glitching. It works perfect when I switch on 'force mono' in the format options. But subsequent videos would revert back to stereo. How can I always use force mono by default? Thanks!

You should disable the autofocus toggle in the advanced video settings. That's what's causing the stuttering on the Quest 1, because it requires a lot of computational resources, which the Quest 1 is lacking. The force mono disables the autofocus, but it'll also make the videos lose their 3D effect, so I highly recommend disabling the autofocus instead.
