About AI generated content...

Hello,

I do admit, I'm not super active on Itch.io but I tend to use this place a lot, buying and getting assets to try many things on my side. And there is something that piss me off lately.

First of all, I am myself an illustrator, so I feel pretty concenred about the actual feedback I'm doing here, and I wouldn't mind talk about my opinion more if necessary.

Secondly, my feedback... I don't want to throw the debate about absolute ban AI generated content or absolute accept it here. BUT, I would appreciate a lot if at least you could consider "forcing" AI generated content to TAGS their "work" as "AI GENERATED". It would be a HUGE plus if we can have the name of the AI generator in the description of the content too, and the seeds/sentences used to create it.

As an artist, I consider that no one should be able to just generate something and sell it off, or share it off and possibly get money for that. Those AI were trained on unknown sources of artworks. And since I tend to see this world as what it is: A rotten place that money justify the manner...

Just generating content, to me, is the same as getting an unknown art, get ride of the watermark, and repost it elsewhere... That's stealing.

Using an AI based tool to improve an artist performance, like the Auto Color avaible on Clip Studio Paint for example (see the video below) is something I can understand. That doesn't use content, just logics based on technics.

But... 600+ backgrounds, icons, effects and so on posted on this website? That's all I see lately! I don't see anymore any handmade work and that PISS ME OFF.

Please... Wonder about this question, and whatever you decide at the end, I will accept it. I just want this question to be in your head, to be discussed, and voted.

On my side, I thought to use Itch to share my skill one day... This just killed my mood.

Best regards,

Rock.
