Flying with a Devo-10 transmitter - works fine on Mac but not on Windows

I just purchased this game because I plugged my Devo-10 transmitter into my friend's Mac and flew his FPV Freerider simulator with no problems.

I run Windows 10 64bit and FPV Freerider freaks out when I connect my Devo-10. The sticks are all over the place, I believe this is because the Devo-10 uses a range of -100 to +100 instead of the standard 0 to +100.

I found this thread regarding the matter, but none of the posts are helpful in demonstrating how to setup this Expo Curve on all channels. Would you happen to know?

My mistake! I should have looked at this helpful thread:
https://itch.io/t/19817/getting-your-controller-co...

  1. I downloaded the Devo model file from here
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwSDHIR7yDwSM0ZPa..
  2. I connected my Devo-10 to my computer in USB mode and dragged the above Devo Model file into the 'models' folder of the Devo-10 USB device.
  3. Important! If you try and look for the above Devo model file in your transmitter, it won't see it. The Devo-10 only recognises model files that are called model1.ini, model2.ini etc. I suggest replacing your model1.ini file with the above Devo model file and renaming it to model1.ini
  4. Turn off the USB mode and press ENT on the main screen. Go to 'Model Menu' and then 'Model Setup'. Select 'Load' in the 'File' option and you'll see a FPV Freerider model in there :)
  5. Select this model, load up FPV Freerider on the PC and calibrate the controller. I'm now flying and crashing successfully!

Here are some suggestions:

- Make sure you have "Heli" selected as model type on your radio. ("Plane" generally doesn't work so well).

- If you're having trouble with calibration using USB/dongle, make sure you uninstall vJoy and Smartpropoplus if you have them. I think it installs a driver that messes with things.

- Make sure you don't have any other joysticks/controllers connected, that might cause a conflict.

- If you are using a USB dongle - check if there's a switch on the dongle where you can select different modes.

- Perhaps you can remap the output channels (in the menu of the transmitter) so that it sends to another channel.

If none of the above works you could try to connect an ordinary 3.5mm audio cable from the trainer port of the transmitter to the audio-in (or mic-in) jack of your computer, along with a software called Smartpropoplus.

There is more info on that in the Spektrum setup tips document:
