Fresh download, new game, after giving Faye the flyer from ontop of the dumpster, move to what I presume is the front of the building and there are no interactibles whatsoever.  The story halts, no dialogue, nothing highlighted, just arrows that I cannot interact with.

what i do is go to the "control" in the adobe flash and do "past" "foward" until it works 

Try moving the .exe out of your downloads folder and on to your desktop. Sometimes if the game is on a different disk drive than your OS it can cause issues on some systems.

The game will attempt to autosave whenever you enter a new room. It's possible an anti-virus on your computer is blocking the function and causing the game to break. There is a potential work-around if you don't want to/don't know how to change your anti-virus settings. If you look inside the MAC folder there is a .swf version of the game. If you get the https://www.newgrounds.com/flash/player you can use it to open the .swf version and it should work just fine. 

I had the same issue when I first started. 

If you are using the Itch.io client you can fix it by disabling the Itch.io sandbox in preferences (Image attached) or by not running the game through the client (a safer option). You can do this by right clicking the game icon and pressing "Open folder in explorer".
