This is not a difficult anti-stress game in which you have to shoot asteroids with a gun. There is only one way to lose: if the asteroids break the gun (you will have to restart the level). If you want, you can prevent them from flying up to compete with you (the game has statistics for various events). Play the way you like. The game has a main campaign, several looped levels (after finish main campain) and an infinite Zen level to which a hint leads.
