Demo tweaks & accessibility options missing from the full game

I bought the game today only to find out that nearly every option I had tweaked in the demo’s menu was no longer available in the release version. These include the ability to toggle off VO animations (the randomized lip-flap whenever a character is talking), game transitions and music fadeout before dialogue, but most importantly, the ability to change the font to OpenDyslexic. The game transitions toggle is rarely useful, and the other two I could live without even if I find their respective features irritating, but putting accessibility options in the demo only to remove them from the full game is a metaphorical kick in the nuts to dyslexic people, on top of being false advertising. If these features aren’t to be expected in the release version, please at least put a disclaimer on the store page.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear that's been your experience. The demo version is on a different engine from the full-game, and we haven't updated the demo to the new engine yet but will be soon. If you'd like us to send you a refund, send us an email to melanie@vnstudioelan.com and we can do so

Thank you so much for the offer, but despite my initial disappointment I can still enjoy the game just fine. I simply felt like potential buyers should be made aware of the missing features, hence the somewhat venty post. For that sake I should also point out that the full game / Unity version adds the option to change font size, and that it’s lip-flap looks a lot more natural (I’m kind of nerding out about it, actually, it’s really nicely done).

Extra accessibility is always a welcome sight in any game, and I just hope this doesn’t mean that you’re moving away from it.
