Hello! My name is Alex, and I’m a Technical Lead / Project Manager by day. I’m offering an exciting opportunity for a Level Designer to join a diverse team of developers who subscribe to a common philosophy that money should not be a driving force that has influence over creativity.

We are Phantombyte Games, and our mission is to deliver fun experiences to a wide audience. We do so by encouraging the exploration of creative ideas framed within our core values of teamwork, responsibility, innovation, creativity, & empathy (TRICE) to push our collective vision forward from concept to reality!

We’re building a single-player FPS game largely inspired by the Half-Life series, and our team is in the pre-production phase of building our game in Unity software. We seek help from a level designer to assist the Lead Programmer in prototyping the game and level design / block out, and we plan to exit the Pre-production phase by 22 October, 2022.

All-in-all we plan to release a gold candidate by 22 March, 2023 or in six months from now.

Some of the benefits of joining our team are as follows:

  • Creative Freedom in a safe environment
  • Life-long connections with creative professionals
  • Career coaching and 1-1s

Some of the tools that team members use on a daily basis include:

  • Discord - Used for team meetings and collaborative discussions
  • HackNPlan - Used to manage the development tasks
  • GitHub - Used for managing the source code
  • Google Drive - Used for sharing documentation and other resources
  • Unity software - Game engine and editor

Thank you for your interest in considering our team!

We are still looking to fill this role. We're in the preproduction phase currently.

The GDD is being written and maintained by myself and another developer, and we're running with the concept of the Player Character is a humanoid robot that can run and gun while solving advanced physics based puzzles in a junkyard world environment.
