Hello itch.io community! We are a small French team of 5 and we've just pre-released our first Game this weekend! (we're very relieved we did it, since our first prototype is from 2014).
Struggle for Light is a local multiplayer game to be played with controllers in your couch with up to 4 friends and some beers (or sodas for the youngests of you ;-)). It's fast paced, easy to learn and very fun (as our friends told us...). We pitch it as being like the bastard son of Bomberman and Contra, so you get the picture.
We started it's development in a time we couldn't find any more local multiplayer games that we hadn't played for hours. As we meet often, we were always looking for nice games to play together, but as they were in a kind of shortage, we thought: "Hey, why wouldn't we make a game ourselves?". After a bunch of tutorials on Game Maker (thanks Shaun Spalding by the way) we made our first prototype in 2014. In 2016 we presented it in a Business Plan and won a french start-up contest! Two of us quit our old jobs to make games. And Struggle for Light is the first of many (we certainly hope so).
This weekend we presented it in a Geek event in Lille, France. And, as you can see in the picture below, we had very positive reactions! (you can see some participants of our first tournament and the winner, Bastien, with a game key).
Finally, you can find hereafter ou first teaser of the game, made by Cyrille Garnier, our game musician (Yes, we have a musician :-) and thanks to him SFL has 10 original soundtracks!). Also, here's the game link so you can check-out more pictures and a detailed description: https://klustergames.itch.io/struggle-for-light

Thanks to you for reading this far and thank you for itch.io to be such an open and well structure platform for indies!
We hope you'll enjoy playing! (we certainly enjoyed making it)
