Hello, We're Project Armada!

We're a small team of developers, 2D artists, 3D modelers, and animators we are looking for new teammates to help bring our Fan game “Tails Adventure: Armada” to life! All experience levels are welcome to respond!

Project Type/Genre & Platform

Tails adventure Armada is a3D platformer adventure game, for PC/Mac

The Idea

“Tails Adventure: Armada” is a Sonic The Hedgehog Fan Game that follows the adventures of Miles “Tails” Prower. In the not too distant future, Speedy and his evil battle bird armada have returned to wreak havoc on Coco Island once again! It is up to Tails and his friends to band together against the growing avian threat! Project Armada is a 3D platformer adventure game inspired by games like “Spyro The Dragon”, “Jak and Daxter”, and other Collect-O-Thons in that vein with exploration and combat elements mixed in! The game is being built in a heavily modified version of the Bumper Engine. The game might end up being quite large so we plan to break it up into narrative chunks called chapters to ensure our team is never overwhelmed by the scale. We are focusing on a slice of the game’s first chapter to prove this approach!

A lot of progress has been made since this first teaser but that's just a little taste of the project all the same!

Progress

We are a relatively small team of 1st-time developers with a passion to bring our dreams to life!

Even though this is a passion project, we are committed and dedicated to finishing this project and really having something to showcase in our portfolios to potential employers as well as obtain game industry skills.

That said we’ve slowly but steadily been making progress in the areas of Story/script, Character and environment artwork, 3D asset modeling, character animations, and some basic mechanics work!

We have 2 lead writing staff who have put together our story's narrative and begun the process of scriptwriting the opening scenes. They’ve also been describing the characters and environments for
Our 5 character and environment artists have been instrumental in drawing the concept artwork

while our 4 3D artists have painstakingly worked to recreate in preparation for export into unity

We have 2 animators who have been hard artwork testing our character rigs and creating stellar animations for our characters.

Finally, we have our 2-person programming team they’ve been vital to bringing some of our basic ideas to fruition but of all of our “departments”, they are in the most need of assistance. We use GitHub to keep everything organized and Trello to track assignments we want to provide them further support by finding some more programming staff to collaborate with!

What We Are Looking For

That’s why we’re posting here today we believe we’ve got a pretty stellar project here and are in need of some talent like yours to keep it going! We are looking for roles to fill within our team, the most important roles we are currently looking for are:

  • C# programmers who are familiar with Unity.

  • Material and lighting specialists who are also familiar with Unity.

Working knowledge of GitHub Repositories is a huge plus! Entry-level experience and those who are still learning are welcome to apply!

While we are prioritizing programmers and technical artist roles, do not hesitate to apply if you are:

  • A 2D/3D environment and/or character concept artist.

  • A 3D animator specializing in Blender.

  • A Game/ level designer.
