3D Environment Artist
Description:
Ratfish Studios is looking for an experienced 3D environmental artist to join our development team in help producing our game, Cogflicts. We are looking for a self-motivated team player. You should be proficient in hard surface & organic modelling, and have a proven track record of generating environment props, textures, & lighting. You look to continuously improve your own skill set, and be comfortable with criticism and revision.
Basic Qualifications:
-Experience modelling and texture mapping 3D assets for video games
-Must be proficient and own or have the equivalent to 3ds max and Photoshop.
-Understanding of PBR shader usage.
-Texture Atlas experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience working with Substance Designer.
-3D Sculpting Programs such as Zbrush or Mudbox
-Working in game engines to import your work.
-Modular work flow in environments, buildings, and textures to allow re-use/re-purpose.
-Comfortable with slight stylization vs realism alone.
-Understanding and use of the idea that lighting effects mood.
-Texel density consistency for UV layouts.
-Some experience as a Technical Artist as well is a bonus.
Our company team consists of experienced professionals, hobbyists, and students. We use a on-line repository to share projects, and meet twice a week through Google Hangouts. Our project is in the realm of Steampunk.
This is a royalty development. Our current development scheme requires members with spare time work without compensation until the game is released or we gain financial backing. Please, no current students or recent graduates who are looking for paying jobs as well. We need long term members and commitment.
