--- THE FIRST UPDATES FOR THE FINNISH WAR ARE OUT! ---

You can check the updates on the game's Devlogs at my page.

Save file issues, performance, and some other things have been fixed.

It's been out for 40 days now! - and for the milestone, I wished to share some dev protips to questions that I've been presented - and to ones that I imagine puzzle some players.

The Finnish War is, I'd characterize, hard to learn but easy to master. Once you get the hold of the Command controls and how buildings work, you're at it.

  • NEVER send your troops out into unknown territory where you haven't explored yet. Things that don't show on the minimap include frozen lakes and Pit Traps - units can easily die to these if you just press Charge and send them ahead of you into the fray.
  • Pit Traps are quite devious! They don't appear on minimap, and blend into the terrain. (well, that's their purpose, to not be spotted) NEVER wander off into snowstorms without having checked the terrain ahead - they cloak Pit Traps quite effectively.
  • it's a good way to start a map by first thing building a Camp. The AI always does this - you'll immediately have a refuge from Temperature attrition from the start.

Some two-player mayhem!

While the singleplayer puts a bigger emphasis on the survival aspect, in multiplayer you're still able to try and pull off any general RTS tricks - rushing on smaller maps, etc. But with most maps tailored around the survival mechanics, it won't always be rewarding!

Some insight into the survival mechanics of The Finnish War.

The game is now 70% Off / 0,60€ for Summer Sale!
