Love the game and been playing for over a week. When I check my stats it only shows I've played one game. What's wrong?

Stats are new, and you only have stats for what you've played since they were added.

When we鈥檙e stats added ?

How new, because it showed one game before and after I played today

After I finish a game the stats show I won one game. When I close my browser and and then reopen to play again, my stats show zero games played and the days game is ready play again like I haven鈥檛 played it.

Same here.

You may have your browser set to clear cookies when you log off. Cookies are how the game keeps your stats.

how do you do that

It was a setting in my browser. Thanks!

Thanks

Same here. I鈥檝e played several times, but my stats show I have played only one game.馃槙

If I leave the screen in mid game it clears when I return. It doesn鈥檛 save where I鈥檓 up to

Go to phone settings, Safari, and make sure Block All Cookies and Prevent Cross-Site Tracking are not checked.

So the problem here is Cross-Site-Cookies, which I'm not about to turn on for a game (it's not that I don't trust the game, it's that it allows all sorts of creepy tracking elsewhere) - it seems to me like the game aught to either store the data in a cookie for the correct domain, or use localStorage.

It does use localstorage! But itch.io's hosting system does strange things.

So what鈥檚 the answer? How can we get stats to work and not have the game cleared when we leave the tab?

so what鈥檚 the answer? How do we get to keep our stats?

Any chance of getting Dordle hosted somewhere else that doesn't do strange things to local storage? If the game is all done client-side, could GitHub Pages work for hosting?
