What's the wooden flail for? Also, what about the hoe and scythe?

The flail is used to flail crops into cereal seed or to beat berries off of bushes.

The hoe is used to till soil to make crops grow bigger (though this doesn't actually produce anymore cereal yet).

The Scythe is used to cut down crops.
