Jewel Aner - your coworker of three years. Whether she actually likes you or not, there's no denying that you work well together, forming an easy routine in and outside of the workplace. She's a tough one to get to know, keeping you at a distance, as though there is a secret she's concealing from anyone who might get too close. You can sympathize. One thing is certain, she always knows more than she lets on. Or, at least, that's the impression she gives off.

Born on the 23rd of December in [REDACTED]. With both of her parents working for [REDACTED] on a project that required frequent relocations, Jewel never stayed long in one place. Before setting in Elazar with her younger sister and her grandmother, she had moved over 26 times.

Growing up on the road, Jewel spent most of her youth as an only child - not that it shows. Since her early days, she preferred focusing all of her attention on the outside activities instead of poring over textbooks as her parents might have wished. Thankfully for her, her many successes in sports were enough to satisfy them - not that it was needed. Jewel is one of the few people you know that had the privilege of growing up in a loving home.

Even when her gift of Telekinesis awakened, her parents choose for her the most suitable Academy, where she honed her survivalist skills, quickly joining a couple of sport teams and forming close bonds that sadly weren't meant to last.

After [REDACTED] of [REDACTED] she was forced to flee, leaving [REDACTED] behind. Scarred by everything that happened since then, she cut all ties with her remaining friends and began to build a wall around herself that no one could breach.

Having to mature fast, Jewel is known to take everything in her stride. She forms new relationships quickly but struggles to maintain them over long periods of time. Though her earlier experiences made her regard the world with a more pessimistic outlook, the dry humor she uses as a shield keeps her from getting too fatalistic.

Reed Esposito - your childhood friend; the guy who helped you fake the Affliction Assessment Exams and secured you a fake ID.

Born on the 18th of June in the small village of Sciola, despite spending his formative years in relative poverty with an absentee mother and a gambler father, Reed's always exhibited a certain amount of charm and shrewdness that only spending his youth in a renowned casino could offer.

After leaving Sciola and settling with his older brother in the nearby city of Brisco, Reed was gifted a few years of normalcy, helping out in a bistro, where he learned both the art of cooking and dealing with people. Once his affliction - Telepathy - manifested, Reed joined the Roxborne Academy at the age of 12. The education he obtained therein allowed him to graduate a year earlier and leave the Academy to find his luck in the Elazar metropolis.

Having lost the last scraps of youthful naivety barely a year after settling in Elazar after he'd put his trust where it shouldn't be placed, the lapse of judgment resulted in his almost-arrest, 'official' death and attainment of a less than squeaky-clean reputation he was wise enough to use to his advantage. The widespread knowledge and the influential circle of 'friends' he made thereafter shaped him into a man who should not be trifled with.

A waiter by night and [REDACTED] by day. Though never caught with his hands dirty, he's suspected of [REDACTED], [REDACTED], [REDACTED] as well as extortion. Though he appears perfectly friendly, the easy demeanor doesn't last long after his facade crumbles. The few people who got to see his true face describe him as superficial and cunning, though personally, Reed has always preferred the term 'adaptable'.

Laurent Vincent Rosier - team Sigma's Commanding Officer and an unlikely friend you've met by chance a year or so ago.

Born on the 3rd of September in the capital city of Alven, as the only son of a well-respected government-affiliated agent and the Bureau of Control and Prevention's Chairwoman, he was expected to follow in his parent's footsteps - if not for the awakening of his gift, Dream Shaping, one of the rarest and hardest to overcome.

Having spent most of his youth in and out of a coma in a hospital ward, struggling to find a way out of the Dream World, he was left to his own devices and given up on. Prematurely as it happened. Unable to join the Bureau of Control and Prevention, he and his parents had a falling-out and Laurent enrolled in a private Academy where thanks to his steely resolve and self-discipline he managed not only to control his affliction but also to graduate with the highest honors.

Soon after being once more let down by his parents Laurent severed all contact with them for good. In a stroke of luck, he was spared from wasting his life and making all the bad decisions by his soon-to-be employer and mentor, whom he replaced after several years, climbing the career ladder at the speed of light to become one of the Commanding Officers of the Department of Safety and Peace after his reassignment to Elazar.

Around the office, Laurent has been called cold and unpleasant. He rarely smiles, and when he does it's stiff and obviously forced.
