How to get mini-slime out?

I've gotten 5/6 jade pieces, but I can't figure out how to get the mini slime out of the area it's in. The only entrance requires a slide dash to get in or out of, which leaves the mini-slime behind.

Getting it out of the ruins is easy but then outside its bugged it run towards the thorns and then despawn

It doesn't despawn, it just runs away from you. ^^ If you move past the thorns it will run away from you to the right side. Then you can go down and pick him back up (he won't leave the screen).
