WorldLab: a design process for collaborative worldbuilding

I’m excited to announce WorldLab, a design process for structuring and focusing worldbuilding in small creative teams!

Game designers, writers, and creatives frequently build worlds to inspire their designs. What makes this worldbuilding captivating, coherent, and illuminating? And what principles and processes should teams of worldbuilders follow for the most creative results? I’ve spent the last few years exploring these questions. WorldLab is my answer.

The system draws on agile development methodologies, design thinking, careful observation of the collaborative worldbuilding process, and prior worldbuilding games, such as Ben Robbins’s Microscope RPG and Situation Lab’s Rilao Remote Viewing Protocol, with the goal of producing creative worlds as efficiently and effectively as possible and with an end use and audience for the world in mind.

WorldLab is free to download, unless you'd like to make a donation.
