Lovely, and harder.

I'm not even at the Father G fight, and I'm already loving this demake. And I haven't played Bloodborne since I got Platinum, but I find THIS version harder for a few reasons. The ones I think will be noticed the most is that you can only use Blood Vials while standing still, and transforming weapons can only be done in the menu, which also prevents transform attacks. A more subtle one, though, is that on PS4, going to the Hunter's Dream would replenish the player's health back to full, but on PSX, the health you have stays the same. I do remember, though, that status effects like poison persist, so that has to be given credit. It also feels like player tracking when enemies are winding an attack is more accurate here than on PS4, but again, it's been a while since I've played that version. Overall, I'm really loving the demake. The new areas and reworked mechanics, along with the segmented areas and optional loading screens and FPS cap, really make this game charming. And the fact that only one person made this deserves serious praise.  And anything I listed don't have to be patched I don't think; as it's been established, this is a demake. Jumping to the PS4 version should feel like a reimagining of this version.I will certainly try to play this game to completion.

Get past the gascoigne fight, then talk about difficulty.
