"Cannot create DirectX/OpenGL interop"

Hi folks,
I just installed Maxwell 1.5 on a freshly installed Win7 x64 laptop
(all drivers installed, Windows Update is current, and the Helios LaserDAC is detected just fine)
and when I go to turn on the laser, I get an error:
"Cannot create DirectX/OpenGL interop"

Anyone know how to fix this?
Am I missing a set of OpenGL components or something?

I tried installing v.1.22, and it does not throw this error, but 1.22 also doesn't recognize my Helios LaserDAC, so I can't use it.

I appreciate any help anyone can offer.

Thanks!  Awesome program!

I have exactly the same issue, did you find a solution?

solution, no...explanation, yes:  integrated graphics chipsets (i.e. Intel HD, common in laptops, particularly low-end ones) are susceptible to this problem.  Use a computer with a dedicated graphics card (i.e Radeon or GeForce)...the problem disappears.

Any work around? I just cant afford another laptop right now and every other laser software I have works on this laptop.  I'm wondering if a VM with 3d support would be enough?   None of this is really graphic intensive at all.  Perhaps the requirements should be reconsidered.
