I have noticed that quite often when I start the boarding process, the boarding deck is just plain missing and only the sea is visible. In such a case, I can neither move nor do anything else, except for reverting to an older save.
It's the Flying Dutchman that you receive right from the beginning when you start a game with William Turner as your character. I don't think I can upload save files directly to this community hub, I have uploaded it to the following dropbox folder (hope the link doesn't get removed):

An entry in the system.log file shows the problem as the .ptc file for that deck is missing. Looking in the resource files, there is a .ptc file, but it is misnamed for day/night, which prevents the entire deck model from loading properly. I copied the existing .ptc file and gave it the proper names. Itch GOF 1.2 has been updated.
