Audio Remastering - Is this an improvement or just bad but in a different direction?

Title says it all. I am re-recording all of my audio and I just wanted to know if I am making better sounding audio, or if it is just bad but in different ways than it was bad before. The linked twitter video shows and A/B of the audio used in the game. The first bit of audio is my original demo audio. That uses a headset microphone without much editing except for some normalization in Audacity. The second audio clip uses an audio technica microphone and it was post processed in Adobe Premier with basic male balance, noise reduction, and a noise gate. I don't have a studio or anything - just doing this in my office so I am relying on post to fix up my environment (which I know I should fix). Just wanted to get some feedback on whether this audio is going in a better direction. Also, my entire game takes place in a house. Not sure if that impacts the feedback.
