Inspired by one of the classic arcade games from the 8-bit era, Super Alien Blast is a modern retro game for the 48K ZX Spectrum, suitable for use with original vintage machines, ZX Spectrum emulators on any operating system, or as a standalone application for Windows or Linux PCs. The PC versions run using a custom emulation engine and also feature a CRT display simulation to complete the vintage aesthetic. About Vintage Software Systems Ltd

Driven by a passion for classic arcade games, home micros from the 8-bit era, and just about anything related to old computers, Vintage Software Systems Ltd is a small business specialising in creating modern retro games - as programs for vintage home computers, ready-to-run applications for popular PC operating systems, or for use with hardware emulators.

Built-In CRT Display Emulation
The display technology of the time is an essential part of the vintage game aesthetic, but vintage CRT monitors can be expensive and difficult to maintain, so our ready-to-run PC games also include a software CRT emulation complete with phosphor persistence, and adjustable controls - for all the desirable qualities, without the drawbacks.

Hand Coded for Vintage Home Computers
Our modern retro games are hand coded in assembler language, from the ground up - just like the old days, but with the benefit of modern development tools. This allows us to create code which will run directly on vintage machines, or a third-party emulator of choice, or as a ready-to-run PC application - using our own emulation engine and built-in CRT display simulation.
