How to draw on the png cartridge ?

Hello, I've generated a png, and now I'd like to draw something simple on the black zone. What software do you people use to draw? I've tried Gimp but after that the png does not work, I suppose Gimp writes on the special zone where the tic80 code is stored...

Hi,  not sure if it helps but if you take a snapshot of your game  screen while playing (pressing F7) it will be used when you save your game to png (with save game.png).

Best regards

ah, that's good to know! I didn't even knew the F7 key. If the screen is saved into the png, that's a good workaround. Thanks !

the black zone in the png cartridge is the game cover image, there are several ways to add an image there.

- press F7 (as the previous comment said) to take a screenshot as a cover.

- if you want to draw manually you can use any drawing application such as GIMP the resolution must be 240*136 pixels and use the sweetie16 color palette (otherwise the color will change to automatic in TIC-80). if it's done, move the image to the TIC-80 system folder (you can use the "folder" command in the TIC-80 console) then enter the command "export screen image_name.png" then the game cover will change.

Thank you for the answer!
