That's very weird, I just downloaded a copy of it from Itch.io and it's working fine.
Let's try one thing or the other:
-If it's an issue with when you open the game and see a grey error message screen, press "ignore" in the bottom! I relocated chapter 1' script location so when the game opens and tries to go back to the place you were on when you exited the app, it can't find chapter 1's script because the demo isn't compatible with the full version!
-And if it can't even install the .APK file, could you try downloading the APK file again? There's a small chance it could have corrupted in the download.
Have you tried downloading the newest update? I've updated the full game after we talked, it may work now. However, you may need to uninstall the demo and the previous version of the full game if you have them installed. Otherwise I wouldn't know why Android isn't opening the file, so far it's had no other problems on mobile other than the save file thing I mentioned in another reply.
itch.io didn't notify me of these replies and that's bad because that made me think there was no more issues with the android version, so I'm sorry for the late reply.
I have had a similar issue before from clicking right on the downloaded .apk from the downloads tab that pops up.
The way to fix it for me was to use the file manager app and go through it onto the downloads folder, and click on the .apk file that way.
I don't know why but for some phones just clicking on the download directly doesn't work. Could be since you may have downloaded from a browser, that the phone tries to open the .apk in-browser when you tap it.
