Hi everyone, we are a team of researchers at the University of Basel (Switzerland) and at Utrecht university (The Netherlands), investigating the role of digital fiction in our lives and individual differences in reading/gaming habits.
As Interactive Fiction lovers, we should bring attention to its major role in the contemporary gaming and narrative scene! We would really appreciate if you'd consider taking part in our research study through an online survey addressing the multi-faceted experience of reading Digital Fiction (from Twine to IF, hypertext) from several angles: genre preferences, personal reasons for reading, and impactful reading experiences (if you had any). We also ask our participants to read two very short excerpts of a novel and provide their impressions.
If it sounds interesting to you, please take a look at our survey: on the first page you'll find a more complete description and all the information on data protection and consent. The study has been reviewed and approved by the Ethics Board of the University of Basel.
We really value your help in this research endeavour! As a small thank you for your participation, you can take part in our raffle for 30 gift cards worth 25€ each (Netflix, Steam, Amazon, Apple Store or Google Play).
