Space Character Too Small

Hey! I've been trying tirelessly to get this to work with a font. I saw another topic where someone else mentioned that their space wasn't working and that's the case for me as well. I have nothing in the space slot, I've highlighted the top left in the glyphs in image section where there is currently a space character, and the atlas shows that nothing's in it at the bottom. But all of the characters are 1 pixel apart. I exported the TTF and tried to use it and sure enough when I bring it into Unity or any other program and I hit the spacebar, it only moves by 1 pixel each time. I have no idea why this is happening and I've also tried to replicate the demo scene where you have a period in the space slot and that didn't work either. Am I doing something wrong?

For width of space character, add more pixels to the “space” tile (you have it highlighted on your screenshot)

For spacing between letters, edit “Spacing” field

Even after adding more pixels to the space character, I still couldn't get it beyond 2 pixels. Can you record a tutorial so that I can get the space character beyond two pixels?

Just added a wider line to the sample font and seems to work fine here:
