[ANSWERED] Does this actually download DMM

I'm seeing alot about R18 in the readme, does this work for digital libraries from DMM.co.jp?

Hi,

Thanks for the kind message. Jav-It does not support DMM at this time. Since DMM is geo-fenced (Ie. blocked) for most people outside of Japan, and requires Japanese knowlege to use, testing/research has not been done against it.

Edit: This information is no longer accurate. The Patreon branch of Jav-It is now capable of downloading videos from DMM, however it is still considered experimental as it is sometimes finicky to get started. There is no real reason for this behavior so there might be some anti-download measures that we're not yet aware of. The issue is still being investigated (time permitting).

Hi,

I just bought your tool, thinking I could DL what I bought from their Japanese storefront.

...Until I encountered error upon using "--server=dmm" option and eventually found this topic.

It would be very cool if you could implement this feature soon; I reside in Japan and have my own DMM acount for 5+ years oh and also Japanese is my native language so I think I can provide help if necessary.

Massive respect for creating and sharing this wonderful piece of software. Cheers!

Hi there,

Jav-It does have experimental support for downloading videos from their Japanese storefront. However, that is only avaliable on the Patreon branch of this software. So if you were interested in that functionality, you would need to support me on Patreon to get those features. However, I will say that performance is kind of flakey at the moment, since they seem to reject requests for no real reason. So sometimes you have to try and start downloads multiple times, or just launch the video playback using your browser, then try to start downloads immediately after. I assume this is some anti-download measure, but I'm not sure yet.
