The itch.io version only supports one data source, which is correct. In addition, please read the community rules for submitting help requests so that we can help you properly. Without context, we can't do much troubleshooting.

The screenshot you posted is some kind of front end to a patched/pirated version of the software which clearly no longer works and is obviously not supported. If your a Patreon subscriber, you can simply download the latest Patreon version and use that. And if you have any issues running the project, simply associate your Discord account with Patreon and you'll get added to our community servers where people can help you.

The itch.io version is for people who just need simple cataloging and not much else. For everything else, you can just jump directly to the Patreon version. If you are already subscribed, just associate your Discord account with Patreon, head over to our community Discord server, and you'll find everything you need.

If your not already subscribed, please make sure you read everything carefully or ask questions so you understand fully what your getting to avoid any possible disappointment.

Hi. The warning from Windows is a false positive. The app uses automation and compression techniques that some malware also shares in behavior, so Windows Defender flags it based on heuristics. In other words, it guesses based on behavior without actual proof. Microsoft does offer a paid code signing and whitelisting service to stop these warnings, but that is essentially a pay to be trusted system. For the Patreon link, simply see the README.txt file for more details.

Make sure your able to accept friend requests. It says your not accepting friend requests at this time.

If your logged in and still don't see it, I'm not sure what is up since it should be there (but only if your logged in and looking at the right page). If you want to write me your Discord username here, I can add you as a friend and help you troubleshoot and regain access, since it would be difficult on the forums here.

Can you kindly clarify, are you saying that downloads are disabled for your account? Do you have a screenshot I could see for troubleshooting purposes?

Also, make sure your trying to get the project from the right project page. If you purchased from our legacy page, you need to download the project from there.

Ok, The issue has been resolved. Please re-download the Linux version again to get the fix!

If your running the Patreon version, please join us on Discord for additional support as this forum is only for the itch.io version. However, the issue you have reported I believe has already been resolved and It will be included in the next upcoming Patreon build.

Hi there!

If you check out the `README.txt` you can find all the information you need for Patreon. As for downloaded video files, *.dcv files from R18 are not supported as that website is no longer running and their licence servers are long dead. In addition, the secrets they use to secure videos are different than DMM, so cross decryption would be impossible. The only alternatives you have is to re-purchase all your titles on DMM with the Download option, or subscribe to one of their premium channels which allow downloading videos.

Hi there.

It's probably due to  more recent versions of Ubuntu breaking some older dependencies. When you say your using the latest version, are you speaking about the latest LTS version, or just absolutely the latest version altogether? I can try to install a VM and see if there is a way to reproduce the issue and/or find a workaround for you if I find out. Alternatively, If you have access to Debian 12, or 11, you could give that a shot and see (since we generally support Debian due to it's much more slower and stable releases).

Edit: I installed a VM with 24.04 and I can reproduce the issue. Looking into it now to see if there is anything I can do.

Hi there,

Just to clarify—everything you mentioned (including VR support and access to the Discord server) is explained on the itch.io project page under the section `Patreon, Discord, And The Future of Jav Preservation`. The key part is that these features are only available through the Patreon version of Jav-it.

If you'd like to decrypt your purchased DMM VR videos and get Discord community access, you'll need to subscribe on Patreon first. Once you do, you’ll get access Discord where you can find our community, tutorials, guides, and troubleshooting help.

Hi there,

You would be free to participate in our private Discord server (reserved for Patreon supporters), but I could not guarantee if people know about DRM, what specifically your looking for, or would be willing to talk about it.

Hi there!

Thanks for the kind heads up! They started blocking requests, so I made an update to get around that. Simply download the latest version to get the fix!

Hi there! I was going to say, but you solved it already. Amazing job! :-)

No worries. Because Jav-It does a lot of "Automation" Windows Defender and AV packages assume via heuristics that Jav-It behaves like a Virus. In most cases I do recommend disabling those packages, or adding a whitelist for it.

What geographical location are you in? Also, can you try to run with a VPN set to a US location to see if that resolves your issue? If it does, it might indicate the potential issue as it might be a google blocking issue/change.

Can you provide more context? For example, what command you ran, or what bat file you specifically started, and/or what options you selected? Or what operation you were trying to do, or what video title you were trying to catalog? Details would help a lot! :-D

Because your running Jav-It using relative directories, this is expected. The current (working) directory must be the directory where your module files are located. That's why it was able to find the modules once you moved them. But anyway, glad you got it working!

Could you share a screenshot of your cataloging output so we can see what is being printed? The Itch.io version supports only the initial subtitle definitions file, which detects around 1,000 titles. The latest version scans over 23,000 signatures and receives updates—a significant improvement, though still small compared to the amount of JAV that gets released.

Hi there! Do you have any output logs of your run in question? That might help a bit in figuring out what is going on.

Edit: OK, I uploaded a new version which (I hope) helps resolve the issue your seeing. Can't be 100% sure, but it sounds like maybe the translation services are mangling formatting and causing text to not be translated correctly.

If it's in your library and you have a licence for it (But it was removed from general sale) then yes, you should still be able to decrypt the file. If they revoke your licence as well, then all bets are off.

Yep, the Patreon client has the ability to decrypt local *.dcv files downloaded from DMM.

Hi there. This forum is for the Itch.io version of the project. For proper Patreon support, please hit us up on the official Patreon discord server, and someone would be happy to help you. If your not already a part of our Discord community, simply associate your Discord account with your Patreon account and you should be added to our servers automatically. Thanks!

Huh? If your using p1.17.5, then your already subscribed, nothing to think about. The only reason your getting the virus warnings is because Windows Defender is terrible and marks everything as a false-positive (Everything is cross compiled under Linux). Just make an exception for the program, or disable Windows Defender and you should be fine.

The project page clearly states that only the Patreon version supports this feature. That is why the README.txt file does not cover instructions for this unsupported functionality.

Just look at the bottom of the README.txt file for more details.

Yep, the project page clearly states that only the Patreon version supports VR decryption. In addition, the command being used is completely unrelated to VR decryption and is no longer in use.

The Linux version only works on Linux. I have no idea where you got the idea that it would work on Mac OS.

There is a very slim chance that the encryption keys are the same on DMM as they are on R18. That means if someone decrypted a title from DMM using the Patreon client and our servers cached the keys, in theory those same keys could be used to decrypt your R18 content. But there is no way to be sure as this is just a theory.

No, step two says:

Create a new line at line 1
and add the line "chcp 65001" to it.

So it should look like:

chcp 65001
jav-it.exe gui

echo... etc...

Hi there,

Thanks for the kind inquiry! Jav-It is primarily a command line interface tool, so you will need some knowledge about command line interfaces to get the most out of it (that's why double clicking it does not launch anything). That being said, the GUI is just fine for getting people introduced to the simplest options. The reason why your getting graphical glitches is because your computer is  likely running on a non-English locale. To fix this, simply perform the following:

1. Open the jav-it_gui.bat file in a text editor (eg Notepad++ ).

2. Create a new line at line 1 and add the line "chcp 65001" to it.

3. Save the file and run again by double clicking it.

After this, your terminal window should display the GUI correctly.

Hi there!

I have uploaded a new version which should resolve this issue for you. Please download the latest version from itch.io and you should be all set!

As far as I know, it shouldn't change anything and should decrypt just fine.
