"It is time for an incredibly indie arena fps to appear out of nowhere and become monstrously successful."

Welcome to Shades - An in-development Alpha of a modern Arena Shooter + Party Game combined. Want fast paced run-and-gun action, with double jumps and powerups for good measure? Want a quick, twitchy, free FPS to jump into with friends on the days you're looking for a game to play? So did I - so I got to work turning Shades into a passion project to bring some new twists to the classic Arena Shooter genre. The current, unfinished, yet pretty acceptably stable result of that work is the Alpha of Shades.
What's in Shades already? - I've got a free-for-all game mode running pretty well. 20 kills to win, unlimited time, 6 or 12 max players depending on if you're in a public match or private party room (respectively), 20 character skins to pick from, and one glorious little map known as Habitat.
What's not in Shades? - The menus are a bit basic at the moment, there aren't a ton of settings, there's no voice or text chat, and there's not really a concept of an account carrying your progress/settings between sessions/games. But, ya know, we're in Alpha and I think it's pretty darn fun :)

Any more info? - The Quick Match button does run actual public matchmaking, but this is an ultra indie FPS so your mileage may vary finding random opponents. Private party rooms are probably your best bet while Shades is growing, and I'd imagine playing with friends you might be able to talk to is probably a better experience when you're trying a new game out. That being said, if you're looking for players there's a link to join the Shades FPS community Discord Server on our Store Page, and you can post Join Room Codes there to try to grab some others.
If you're interested please give Shades a try! I'll be the first to admit that Shades is not a finished product at the moment, but boy does it hope to be one some day...
