Applied Hope is a jam about solarpunk and/or utopian thinking and practice. Define ‘solarpunk’ and/or ‘utopia’ any way you like. Your goal is to create a game or anything you like. Have fun. Be weird.

It's a jam about imagining many possible worlds — worlds filled with new ways of organizing society, worlds filled with adventure, excitement, and unpredictability.
The word “utopia” is in there, but it’s not really a jam about “perfect” societies where nothing ever changes. Nor is it a jam about “fake perfect” societies that turn out to be the absolute worst.
It's a jam about using games to flesh out hopeful futures, to come up with ideas we might otherwise never think of, and to focus on details we might otherwise miss . . .
Can your game explore the flaws, downsides, drawbacks, and unintended consequences of possible future societies, and harness the players’ imaginations to solve those problems? How might these societies evolve and transform? What threats might they face from within and without? Can you extrapolate where they might end up fifty or a hundred years later? What characters might live in these worlds? What stuff might there be? How might your game reimagine drama, tension, conflict, adventure, and mystery for a setting that is genuinely a more just, fair, empowering and free?
Loads more suggestions on the actual jam page.
The game jam leans analogue, e.g. mini TTRPGs, generators, TTRPG settings / adventures / modules / supplements, 'serious' games / tools / exercises, but it is open to anything. In fact it would be lovely to see some "is this even a game???" type stuff.
There will be some small prizes. Please join, and if you're interested in being involved in some other way, please reach out!
