I downloaded the 0.1.19.0 release of the Windows 64 bit version of the game from here a while ago. I received it is a compressed file that I then uncompressed into a folder on the root drive. This folder contained a small .exe file (259k) as well as all of the java and I presume other game files. I am currently running the latest version of Java as well. When I double click on the .exe file nothing happens at all. No error messages, just nothing. Is there something I'm missing?

Just downloaded the newest non-patreon version and had the same experience.

Hey, so you've got a folder titled Tales of Androgyny Win64, and in it there's a jre folder, a config.json, TalesOfAndrogyny.exe and TalesOfAndrogyny.jar?  And when you click to run the exe (or the jar), it doesn't run?

When I click the .exe it doesn't run, and when I click the .jar I get "Sorry, fatal error - please let Majalis know! Error: Error writing file: data\profile.json (Local)" I have applied full permissions to the whole folder and sub directories.

Developer

Does it create a data folder?  Try creating a data folder - it's strange that it doesn't have the ability to write.  I assume it also doesn't create an error.txt file with the full error.

No, no error.txt is created.

What happens if you just create the data folder and create profile.json file in it?  If you put in

{
"enemyKnowledge": {}
}

as the body of the file, you'll have created the file it's trying to create.

I found the problem. One file was still read only. Once I changed that everything ran like butter.

Developer

Awesome!  Runny butter :O

which file was that?

I am having the same issue, which file was read online because I can't identify it.

Having the same issue.  Error: Error writing file: .toa-data\profile.json

I have full access to the directory, nothing in it is read-only, tried the 32 bit version, manually created the folder and file in both versions. It doesn't create an error.txt file either.

Any other suggestions?
