Currently in the figuring out "how to develop game projects" mode so I am attempting to create a prototype per week. Trying not to develop a complete, polished game but more prototypes that can help me improve my project development and organisation skills. Prototype was inspired from a task in Unity Learning Junior Programmer course... thing.

Feedback that I am looking for (feel free to copy & paste these questions to make it easier for you):

How does the gameplay feel? Is it clunky or smooth? Too easy or Too hard? Any suggestions on how it could be improved?

Are the controls comfortable for you? How can they be improved or redefined?

Is the User Interface easy-to-use? How would you rate the looks of the User Interface (1 = Poor, 5 = Brilliant)? How can it be improved?

What could be added to the prototype to make the game better for you?

Any sort of feedback will be appreciated and I thank you for your time. Hope you enjoyed my prototype!

Hey Jack, I played through the 5 holes of the prototype and something I noticed is that the ball takes too much time to come to a halt,  also when the ball hits the wall, it doesn't feel as bouncy as it should. The art looks great though, and it has a very chill and pleasant vibe good work!

Thank you HitOrMissDev for your feedback! I think I need to practice more with Unity 3D physics. How was the controls? Did they work together or not?

Yes! The controls worked well, but maybe the camera placement could change because being behind the ball all the time doesn't allow me as a new player to take a look at the whole course. Maybe make it so there's a button so you can get a top-down view of the course, so I can plan where I'm going to shoot.

I may not update this prototype right away (as I am currently experimenting with different prototypes) but eventually I will go back to updating this prototype. With your feedback, however, I will apply to the different prototypes I will build in the future. I appreciate your feedback and thank you for your time :)

I'd like to see the % power be a bar from 0-100 and for it maybe to move faster back and forth. All the way up to 100 and then back down to 0, making it more of a game to try to release at the right time

I agree about the ball taking too long to come to a stop, and would also like to see the camera angle go from ground level to bird's eye view.

Very cool though to have built all this!

Our game we just release the alpha version and it's here: https://fifeferisland.itch.io/fifefer-island-alpha1

Thanks!

Thank you Chris for your feedback, greatly appreciated!

For the power percentage text, I had plans in the future of turning into a bar that fills up but never of thought of having it go down as it hit maximum value. Thank you for the suggestion!

When I come back to this prototype, I will look at improving the physics of the game and adding the birds-eye view of the course. Maybe a showcase of the map before loading the player on the map could be a feature added in the future.

How did the controls work for you? Is holding and releasing left click a good input system?

Also, how easy or difficult was it for you to aim your shot? Would an arrow showing where the ball was facing make aiming the shot easier?

Once again, thank you for your time and your feedback is appreciated!

Hi! Yes, I think if you had an arrow showing where teh ball was facing would make the shot easier, but I didn't have a problem with the aiming particularly.
I was playing on my laptop and had to click down on the track pad, which was not fun. I'd prefer to have the space bar to click down on as an option as well.
Looks like you're having fun making this game! Keep it up!
Also, i think you may have been the one that gave us feedback for our Fifefer Island game, I really appreciate that! It was thurough feedback and pointed out some things we weren't aware of, including the Football meaning soccer in everywhere except the US!

Thank you Chris for your feedback! Just so you are aware the feedback from this prototype will reflect on how I develop future projects. I am always trying to improve (although this prototype may not receive an update for a while), future projects will benefit from this feedback.

And yes that was me and I am glad the feedback helps, wish you the best of luck on future developments of Fifefer Island!

Thanks so much!  Let me know if you have anything else you want me to check out in the future.  I'll let you know when our next update is out!
