Alright so It's been a while but I finally fixed or so I thought. I had found the file that it said I was missing finally, it was still in the winzip file so I just unzipped that and slapped it into the folder (Hard love_darkest desire doc) started up the game and got maybe a minute into it then all of a sudden the game closes. I try re-opening it and bam same thing comes up again saying I'm missing that file (nw_eld.dll) so I go into the Hard love folder look through it and it's gone. I tried unzipping that file multiple times from winzip into the Hard love folder but it keeps just dissapearing from it, and yes I am on windows.
Is the version you downloaded the current one? Version 008?
And I always compress the files to the maximum with winRar, I am not sure if it works well when trying to decompress them with winzip.
Perhaps these 2 points may be the solution. Since I recently updated the game and it can already be downloaded in a single file. Also if your compressed file ends in rar.part1, there may be the problem.
huuuuuuuh alright so I downloaded WinRar set that all up and figured out how to use it and yes I have the most current version. I did the whole process correctly i'm sure of it but the same thing happened again it keeps telling me that I do not have that file even though now I can clearly see that it's right there this time. The process was re-downloaded the windows version from itch then grabbed the file and put it into a new archive on WinRar then I extracted all that and put into documents and still didn't work I even tried to open the game through WinRar itself but same thing happened
Someone else had the same error, and I solved it by changing the permissions of their antivirus. That solution could serve you.
warriorlink5000: So I can download it just fine, but when I try to move it into the game file folder it just disappears. I allowed both the game files and that specific file through my anti virus and the same thing still happens. Any idea what could be happening?
Edit: Turns out I'm dumb and had two different anti virus programs installed. I uninstalled one and set the permissions on the other. After that I redownloaded the game entirely. This time the missing file was there and the game launched.
