Hello everyone!
TL;DR: I’m looking for an artist/designer/modeller for a serious partnership creating games.
---
I’ve been, on and off, for the past 6 years, developing games in Unity as a hobby and want to take it to the next level. I’m a good programmer, but lack the artistic skills and would like to partner up with someone who can take that side of a partnership making games. Ideally, I see us co-creating game design, you do 2d/3d art & aesthetics, and I take programming. I am fluent in Unity, but it wouldn’t hurt if you can manoeuvre it too (or have the wish to learn).
When it comes to games I love playing strategic/tactical games, ranging from RTSs like Age of Empires/Mythology- series, Warcraft- series, to JRPGs like Final Fantasy series. Furthermore, I spent a lot of time playing Into the Breach, FTL and now, recently, a lot of MTG Arena. When coming up with ideas for games myself I usually end up in these genres, where positioning and/or resource management is key, and typically some low-poly aesthetics as it is the only thing I can make half-decent myself.
I am 33 years old, live in Stockholm, Sweden, and do have a full-time job (working as a lead developer at a fintech startup) meaning I'm currently working with this during evenings and weekends. However, creating an indie studio is somewhat of a dream for me, so given the right match, that could definitely change over time.
If you are interested, please reach out to me here with contact details or send me a presentation of yourself to this temporary email bws.temporary@gmail.com that I created just to be able to share publicly.
Have an awesome day!
PS. I embedded a youtube clip here showing a prototype of a game that I'm not entirely sure where to take. It doesn't really show my skills as a programmer but rather show my lack of skill as an artist ;-)
What is not shown in the video is that the tile colors correspond to different Biomes. I built a fairly advanced map generator that takes temperature, altitude & humidity into consideration when assigning biomes. I've explored different variants with each tile being its own GameObject but also where the whole map is one Mesh.
