Just uploaded a sort of "tech-demo", of a concept I had a couple days ago; about an (original) XCOM inspired Planet defender game. Things happened the way they did, and I ended up with this:
Technically it is just a free, space simulator, as the core mechanics are missing (had no time to implement).
You can access the game via the project's Itch page: https://theaaronstory.itch.io/untitled-space-defender-semi-game-jam
Things included in this "demo":
Features include:
- Simulated solar system (scaled)
- Time adjustment (0x,1x,2x,4x speeds)
- Free flight mode, with various camera adjustments
- Planet view mode
- Planet selection (implemented only for Earth)
- Orbit view mode
- Day/night cycle (Earth)
Use the following controls:
"F" = Toggle free flight mode TAB = Show orbits "Q,E" = Roll camera "W,A,S,D" = Move free camera "Mouse click + drag" = Rotate free camera "Mouse up/down" = Zoom in/out "F1" = Sun "F2" = Mercury "F3" = Venus "F4" = Earth "F5" = Mars "F6" = Jupiter "F7" = Saturn "F8" = Uranus "F9" = Neptune " ` " = Time 0x (tilt key) "1" = Time 1x "2" = Time 2x "4" = Time 4x
