Hey everyone, I've just released my first game, Haze Breakers:

https://zychew.itch.io/haze-breakers

What it is
Every dry season, smoke from forest fires blankets Southeast Asia in haze. Schools close, everyone stays indoors and watches the air quality number (PSI) climb. Haze Breakers turns that into something fun: you fight the fires, bring the PSI back down, and hold out for five minutes until the monsoon rains arrive.

How it plays

  • You only move. Your water gear fires on its own: fire hoses, bouncing water balloons, rain-dance clouds, helicopters and happy little water spirits.
  • The wind spreads the fire, so it's about catching sparks early and reading where the blaze is heading.
  • Level up, combine upgrades, and evolve your gear (the fire hose becomes a Floodgate cannon, the balloons a Cloudburst mortar).
  • Every run clears the sky over a small city a bit more, and new sights appear as it does.

It's meant to be a calm, stress-relief game: short runs, no ads, no daily-login pressure. It's free to play in your browser, on desktop or phone. An optional one-time premium ($4.99) adds Hard mode, a bulldozer boss showdown and two more heroes.

Why I made it
I was stuck at home due to the haze, and decided to make a little game to while away the time. Hope other people find joy in the game as well!

I'd love your feedback, especially:

  • Was the first run clear, or did anything confuse you?
  • Did the difficulty feel fair? (The goal is that you often don't make it the first few times.)

Thanks for reading, and stay safe out there when the air is bad. 🌧️
