I beat every level and there are really neat concepts in this game, I think you did a great job!

Damn, you did it again, might be another jam winner. Really great job!

Thank you so much! Yes, I thought the leader board would make a difference, and then I spent too much time to get it to work. I’m very glad you liked it!

Are you trying to get me to grind the game again?? 69 is a crazy score, I really appreciate you playing it that much!! And yes, you are right, the boxes should either just appear by themselves, or at least be clearly flown by the yokai. And yes, the too close to the edge is definitely sucky. Fun fact: for some reason they don’t spawn on the left side. Thank you again for playing!

I can’t rate it unfortunately because I couldn’t play it in my browser. I couldn’t read the instructions because of the parallax effect moving everything. If you update the game, let me know, I’ll give it a try!

Thank you so much for the feedback and you are right. This was my first time coding and I just didn’t figure out how to make the hitboxes smaller when moving in time.

Thank you for giving it a go! To reach 59 points there were three main points:

  1. Coffee
  2. Sounds for focus on youtube (I recommend that guy that plays that weird brass instrument in the Forest)
  3. Staying in the center, don’t get greedy with the boxes!

That’s a lot of pizzas, I say

Tricky but really fun! I got 1200, what’s your high score?

The children yearn for the mines

What? No solitaire on work pc? This job sucks! Great entry!

I’m happy my feedback helps! Of course, it’s not something that needed to be in the game for the jam, as I said, still top score in my opinion. I just started to code, and there were many (many) things I had to throw out, too. Also ended up with an ultra-hard game accidentally. Good ol’ game jams.

Awesome vibe with the art and music. I screwed up and died on day two, how many days are there or is it like an infinite game?

real

Dope style, yo! The break dance has a really cool animation

Thank you for playing! Yes, I agree, e.g. a health bar that decreases while you are in contact with a yokai would be good or combining health with the score somehow. Right now it’s definitely too hard and insta-dying is frustrating!

Epic game. Really great job! I played all 10 levels and had fun. It’s crazy this is your first game jam. I haven’t played that many games yet, but if yours won, I wouldn’t be surprised! You can ignore everything after this if you want.

You asked for feedback on the itch page, so I will try and give some because I know it can be really valuable. The only thing that I would try to do is simplify the controls. I got confused sometimes and reset a bomb instead of toggling explode, which was frustrating. Here’s how I would approach it based on my experience with the game: First, I’d just have a dedicated explode button because switching to explode mode is just one extra click before I get to see the result. Every bomb could have their own, but ideally it would be only one explode button for all (not at once ofc). Specifically, I’m not sure if it’s necessary to be able to control every bomb individually. It would be much simpler to click and spawn each bomb. So click one time, first bomb spawned, click second time, second bomb spawned, etc. Explosion would work the same, click, first bomb explodes, click second. And then have an undo button so you can reposition them if needed. Why would I do it this way? Here’s how I played the game: I’d set up the first bomb and see where the box would land. Then I’d place the second bomb around the landing spot and see how that would propel the box, and so on. What I would NOT do: place all four bombs in the beginning. So really, that fine-grained control was unnecessary for me. I think this would make it easier to learn and get in the grove. Again, this is all based on how I played the game, so your style or goal for the game might have been different. Either way, the game is top notch for me! Great job and sorry for the long text!

I think it’s really fun. As Mania said, the red line is a great touch, plus that instant ball respawn is awesome. Good job!

Congratulations on your first game jam! You picked a really tough time limit jam and had something to show for it, great job, keep going!

It’s pretty zen, good job

Thank you so much for playing so much. And congrats on getting the high score, but of course, I had to live up to the challenge I issued.

Thank you for playing! I know it’s a bit hard, I didn’t realize because I got so used to it. Lesson: always playtest!

Damn, it really means a lot that you took the time to get every ending. Thank you for playing! I really hope you had fun.

Thank you so much for playing the game and telling me about the typos. I thank you also in the special thanks in the credits.

Wow, so you got the second secret ending. How hard was it to beat the high score? Did you beat it immediately or did it take a while? I may need to adjust the difficulty.

They are spreadsheets, that means each file has many pictures inside. You can slice each file up in your game engine. For example, I’m using Godot, and in the animation tab, you can import an image as a spreadsheet. It then looks like this: image.png

No problem, good luck!

Hi, I know I’m a bit late, but did you already find someone for the game design role? If there’s another role available I’d love to join your team. I’d also like to do narrative design if that’s an option! (Couldn’t find you on discord, I’m @zivky on discord)

Made a small podcast about your game because I really liked it!

Cool! It’s like jetpack joyride, brings back memories.

203??? I tried my best, but there’s no way I can beat that. I must concede. Congratulations, you are international Tiny Tarantula Tower champion!

Thank you so much, it really means a lot! If you ever need a playtester, please hit me up.

You did not See that One coming, did you? Congrats on getting second place, I think you made a fantastic game. I also made a small podcast episode on my substack about it.

I am now towering above you once again!

Awesome, that’s an interesting idea with the web. I had not noticed with the brightness even though I played at night haha.

Awesome cozy game! Highscore grind is real. If anyone gets the new highscore, reply to this comment.

Really fun and quick game, with a fun concept! And it looks really clean as well. Great job

Good job! It’s fun, but I don’t think it’s possible to die on any difficulty except the hardest one. I also saw that there is a bar for the spider web. What was the idea behind that?

Really interesting idea. It took me a while to figure out that I reduce the chance of mines by uncovering. What’s the purpose of sticking to more webs? Do I get more points or? Good job!

Lvl 12 I put W+Ctrl to continue and closed the window lmao

Wow, then you’ve done an excellent job, I was hooked immediately! I didn’t even think of trying to break it or use it for something else.

I really liked your game so I recorded a small podcast episode about it on substack
