I'm not sure I'd call this a rogue-lite. As I'll be honest, it being called that put me away from it for a while. I only just bit the bullet and gave it a try. As I'm not a fan of rogue-likes or lites.
But the way this game functions, I'm not sure if it can be considered that. Since dying loses you nothing. Maybe I just haven't gotten far enough into the dungeon to experience the rogue-lite mechanics it might have. But as far as I can tell, this is more dungeon crawler. Any gear or gold you find, equip, enhance, enchant, etc. you keep even upon death. So you don't have to worry about losing any progress.
If, you were to say, lose all the acquired loot on a given dungeon run after death, then I'd accept it being more rogue-lite. Where you can only keep your loot upon successful extraction from the dungeon. Whether that being going up and exiting or completing a given quest that takes you out naturally.
Edit: Which to me isn't a bad thing. As I said before, it being called a rogue-lite originally pushed me away. I enjoy it being a dungeon crawler.
