Really cool stuff with this one! You really went above and beyond with your graphics for the game, and the story you crafted with the game is interesting. Here are some tips I think could be helpful.

  • The movement of the enemy AI could be smoother. They don't point in the direction they're shooting sometimes.
  • Player movement feels a bit clunky. Sometimes I'm able to walk up the stairs; sometimes I can't unless I jump on them, which can feel awkward since most players assume they can walk on them to move up

What a challenging game you guys have created. The cut scene was hilarious, and it seems like you guys had a lot of fun making it. Here's some feedback I have for y'all:

  • Consider making it easier to identify items on the ground. I must've missed the additional bullets a few times.
  • The UI elements could be improved for readability.
  • Add player controls to the description. It's not apparent how to play the game until the game has started.

Your group created a mechanically fun and challenging game. The game design was on point, with organically teaching players new mechanics and helping them problem-solve with existing mechanics. Overall, a fun experience. I don't have much feedback to provide, as I can tell you and your team have put a considerable amount of effort into the game. The only thing I would add is the following:

  • An active death counter would probably help make the game more engaging, as it could encourage "no-death" runs and allow for some bragging rights.
  • Additional sound effects for deaths, door closing, and dialogue.

Good job on your first platformer. It's got some charm with its pixel-style animation. Here are some things I think could be improved upon.

  • Consider updating the game's page. One aspect of game development is creating a page that encourages players to want to try your game. Adding a cover image, description, and screenshots can go a long way.
  • In addition to sound effects, try adding background music to enhance immersion.
  • While this is a game jam and incomplete games are expected, adding a starting screen and victory screen can make the game feel more polished.

Very cool game! The way you've utilized the models and shading to create a dark atmospheric game was excellent. Here are some things I think you can improve upon.

  • Consider adding a short story at the beginning of the game to explain to improve immersion. Why is the player collecting ghosts? What are the differences between all the colors?
  • Ghosts are a bit hard to find. Consider adding slight hints to make them easier to find.
  • Camera sensitivity can be an issue for players with high DPI. Adding clamping can be a quick and straightforward way to provide a consistent experience. Not an issue for the game dev as the player can also be at fault for using a high DPI, but something to consider in your games.

This is a great first game! I love how you took the time to craft an engaging story in the game's intro. Here are a few tips to improve the game.

  • Consider updating the game's page. One aspect of game development is creating a page that encourages players to want to try your game. Adding a cover image, description, and screenshots can go a long way.
  • There doesn't seem to be audio. I'm not sure if that was intentional, but adding audio can be a great way to enhance immersion.
  • The color contrast between the text and background could be slightly improved. There are tools online to help you test the contrast between text and background colors that you should consider checking out online.

Overall, great job!
