It doesn't say it anywhere but it's safe to assume by how much the game already has presented to us, the developers are probably more focused on finally finishing the game or preparing some major/minor update to the game that's not too far away.

I'm no developer myself but assuming a project is dead when the game already has this much in development provided to the community feels wrong, if you look at the development logs you can see from previous updates of the game that it took about 3 - 6 months for an update to come about.

So, considering that is been about 4 months now since the last update. It's likely a new update will be out around early/late April or May. All I could say is to be patient with the developers, join their Discord for more information or follow their twitter since their last tweet was this month on the 9th!

Got around 204 Plaps before calling it quits, good game overall. I could see a future update where the game would get Fullscreen and naturally walking NPCs (when not spotted) could come into play eventually.

Only complaint is the screen being pushed up when locked in an animation which could leave the player vulnerable from surprises underneath the player vision which I'm sure an Fullscreen and unlocked view when in animation would help a lot. (But that's where I would see the game becoming easy then, so to balance it out I could see a potential NPCs patrolling being a thing.)

Great job on the game, Guan Zillan!

That's an issue I soon ran into as well; this is also why I said it's best to have a backup save, I wasn't sure if this was stable. I tried to tamper with seeing what's the issue was back then. Part of me believe it's an issue with the "Data.win", Unfortunately I'm not what issue could be since I don't know how to get into contact with the Creator.

I'm not sure if the Creator has a Discord or any other site to communicate with, than again these are copyrighted sprites so at best the creator could only give hints into figuring out how to do it our-selves, so they don't get into trouble. Till than if I do figure out how to fix the problem, I'll give you an update as well as update the post.

I can't really find a better way to prove that It works other than this, Im trying to screenshot it side to side with my steam and game, showing that it's running fine with no issues, you can even see me using the Zoroark Skin on the mini preview of the game here sadly...

So recently I've been trying to find some source on finding out how to get the custom skins over to the Steam version of Hole Dweller, There's no definitive answer I've could have gotten so I took it upon myself to figure it out. Since the data between HoleDweller43 (Itch.io version) and the Hole Dweller (Steam version) are the same, all you really need to do is open up both HoleDweller files side to side and move over HoleDweller43 Data and Option Files over to the Steam version and you'll have the custom skins from there on out. Though I'm not sure if this impacts your save your save or not but hey, anything if im able to play as Zoroark in the Steam version again!

If things goes wrong on your end than please let me know, It's probably best if you made a back up save..
