Ah, I love a good tale about imperialist exploits going wrong! As others have said, I felt that the elves’ reasons for hostility at the end weren’t gotten across the best - although, now that I think about it more, the Guide would’ve led them around the thicket, and thus avoided being executed for needlessly murdering plant life. So I take that critique back!

A nice classic story of a battle over a planear-portal! I’m not familiar with the Shadow Stalkers, but enjoyed coming up with my own imagery of these ever-shifting vaguely humanoid creatures with great swords. It ended on a bit of a hopeful note, but I wonder for how long loyalties will remain unshaken…

I know it wouldn’t be smart to steal one from the orcs, as the Guy Gang Ogres found out… but now I want to try a hogodile. 

Awesome short story! Never thought I needed the image of skaven and lizardmen fighting space marines together, but I’m glad I got it! And the Mage’s arrogance was a beautiful spin on the writing jam’s theme.
