We are currently building a non profit 3D arena fighting game inspired by Dinosaur King and Pokken Tournament, and we are looking for volunteer contributors to help bring the project to its first playable demo.

This is a passion-driven fan project focused on creating a fast paced dinosaur combat experience with fully animated 3D creatures, arena battles, and expressive abilities.

About the Project

This game is a 3D arena fighter where players control elemental dinosaurs in real-time combat, similar in style to Pokken Tournament, with a strong focus on animation-driven attacks, movement, and impact.

The goal is to create a polished vertical slice demo that showcases the core gameplay experience..

Current Progress

We already have a growing foundation for the project:

  • Multiple fully modeled dinosaurs completed
  • Active rigging and animation pipeline in progress
  • Environment/arena assets being developed
  • At least one dinosaur currently being rigged and animated for gameplay
  • Core gameplay direction and combat style defined
  • Development Discord server established and active

This is not an idea stage project - we are actively building and assembling a playable prototype.

Current Milestone Goal (Demo Build)

We are currently focused on building a first playable demo, which will include

  • 6 playable dinosaurs
  • 1-2 fully playable arenas
  • Core combat system (movement, attacks, hit reactions)
  • Basic gameplay loop (fight, damage, win/lose conditions)
  • Animation-driven combat feel (key focus

We are Looking For

Gameplay Programmers (High Priority)

We are looking for volunteer gameplay programmers (Unity or Unreal preferred) to help implement core systems such as:

  • Player movement and arena combat mechanics
  • Attack system (light/heavy/special attacks)
  • Hit detection and damage systems
  • Animation integration (State machines / blending)
  • Camera and arena gameplay flow
  • Basic AI or dummy opponent behavior (if possible)

Even prototype-level contributors are welcome if you can help bring systems into a playable state.

3D Animators (High Priority)

We are also looking for animators experienced with Blender (or similar tools) to help bring dinosaurs to life, including:

  • Attack animations (light, heavy, special moves)
  • Idle, movement, and locomotion cycles
  • Hit reactions, knockbacks, and damage states
  • Roars, abilities, and cinematic combat animations
  • General rig-based creature animation work

Animation quality and expressiveness are a major focus of the project.

What You Get From Joining

While this is a volunteer project, contributors will receive:

  • Full credit in the final demo release
  • Portfolio-worthy gameplay or animation work
  • Experience working in a structured indie dev team
  • A chance to help shape a unique dinosaur combat game
  • A collaborative, active development environment

Requirements/Expectations

  • This is a non-profit volunteer fan project
  • Communication through Discord is required
  • Consistency and collaboration matter more than speed
  • Prior experience is preferred but not strictly required if you can demonstrate skill
  • Respectful teamwork and reliability are important

Closing Note

This Project is built out of passion for dinosaur battle games and stylized arena combat. We are actively working toward a playable demo and are looking for the right people to help bring it to life.
