It's not about upgrading a server on the base, you don't have to.

Alpha, Delta, etc... Upgrade the servers on the satellite. 75 points are needed for a full upgrade per server.

Servers that have completed three upgrades have a near zero chance of failure.

Buy and insert a server upgrade (which can be purchased from a store for 25 points or produced by sourcing materials) into the server. It reduces the probability of hash code failure.
