Hi everyone, first release here.
I built this because I had a spare monitor and a 1,700-hour Steam library
that just sat there as a list. Project Lantern reads your local Steam
files (no login, no account, it never asks for your password) and builds
a wall of your top 20 most-played games as playing trailers, ranked by
your actual playtime. Leave it idle and it slowly drifts through your
collection like a shelf that plays itself.
The wall is silent by design: move the selection and that game's trailer
audio crossfades in, with a little waveform pulsing under the clock.
Press Enter and the game launches through Steam. Full controller support,
three color themes (amber CRT, green terminal, ice), and it self-tunes
its frame rates so it stays smooth on older PCs instead of stuttering.
Privacy was the whole point of the design: nothing is collected or
uploaded, no telemetry, and the only network requests fetch your own
games' public artwork and trailers from Steam's store pages, with your
consent at setup. One folder, no installer.
There's a free demo that builds a 6-game wall from your own library so
you can see it running on your machine before deciding.

First tester was my sister on a mid-range desktop, which is how I found
half the performance bugs. If you try it, I'd genuinely love to hear
what your wall looks like and what your machine does with it, F3 shows
a performance readout if anything's off.
Windows 10/11, 64-bit. $2.99 for the full 20-game wall.
