Really like this game even though it took me a while to figure out what to actually do. Usually I skip out fast when that happens but not for this one. It might have been the atmosphere that held me so good job on that. I never play this kinda game so for noobs like me it would be nice to have an active tutorial or at least have the how to play in the menu. Yeah it took me a minute to realize that the question mark in the UI could be helpful ^^* That's on me xD
If you work further on this I would integrate the map function directly into the cockpit to make the whole looking for a site and heading for it smoother. The display of space travel is really nice and immersive already, so why not expand on that.
The sounds do need a bit of balancing, the pickup sound of the drone especially.
All in all I really enjoyed this one. Good job
the goal is to clean up all the dirt. But there is no win screen so the game feels incomplete even when completed.
I'm a bit confused as to why I need a full screen. I get that some games are missing part of their UI without it and some just look better but Rag, to me is not one of either. That's why full screen was not on my list of things needed.
Thank you for playing and commenting
I wanted the dirt to make noises to add to the cute vibe but I could barely make the music work xD
The soap at the start refills over time. The soap scattered around the map does not. The same way it would vanish when you spray and then clean an area irl.
Im glad you enjoyed the game. Thank you for playing and giving feedback 🙏
I really like the atmosphere you created. The environment is a lil dark for my liking but it fits the gamestyle and the music is really nice
This is not my kind of game so I died almost instantly when the enemies appeared and don't dare to come back ^^* so no opinion from me on the fight mechanics
Really nice submission
I wanted to do so much more ;___; Especially, like feedback. I think that would have made it much more fun to play and also a winning screen but I am happy that I got something playable.
I knew scope creep was a thing and tried to combat it but with nothing to compare it to I still bit off more than I could chew. That's one thing I learned
You knocked that out of the park. Especially for your first game.
I had some problems understanding the controls but that's bc I need it shown instead of described. A tutorial would have helped with that and also with understanding what was actually happening in the game.
The atmosphere you created is amazing and very apealing. Defo one of the more unique submissions I've seen
This is such a pretty game. Just for the screenshots I clicked and I stayed for the gameplay. It's fun and engaging. I do think the collisions could be a bit adjusted, I died to spikes that I was only standing close to. Also: why are the goblins so cute? I don't want to kill them ;_;
There is a music bug that when I scroll down or switch to a different window the music glitches out. On firefox, I haven't tested it on more browsers
All the good parts have already been mentioned: addictive, fun, engaging... it's a nice game to play, but
I find the constantly moving background in the menu and all the small moving parts in game hard to deal with. I do understand that some of that is due to shader issues/not enough time for fine-tuning and that you'll work those out but I want to suggest that you give players the choice between background movement during gameplay/in menu and static background. For all those players that get easily overwhelmed. You already started this with giving the choice of shake or no shake in settings. I really appreciated that.
I'm looking forward to seeing how you polish this one up.
I've never read/played a visual novel and I'm happy that this one was my first.
The story is interesting and engaging. I do think the writing could be a lil better but I'm also quite harsh in my expectations towards stories/writing and this one did catch and keep my interest which is really all you need for it to be fun.
The design of the UI was clear and the design fits the story. The sizes of the menu buttons during gameplay are a lil small though.
The choice to make the visuals based on how the prota sees the world does make the story more engaging and adds to the athmosphere of the story.
I do wish that the end points where explained in some way that is understandable without asking for clarification.
The sound effects sometimes underline the story nicely (the cannon shot gave me half a heart attack though)
All in all it is a fun read and good starting point for something really good
Good game idea but sadly more frustrating than fun for me, probably bc I'm not too much of a gamer. Most of the times I get snatched by the bullies during the first jump. It also seems to be the case that, when they are below me, the tail/spikes don't seem to hit them.
I really love the artstyle and music, they make the game feel much more relaxed. Would definitely play a less hard version and get lost in time
This has big potential to become a blanket and hot cocoa game.
Art is awesome, music ties right into the atmosphere, gameplay is still a bit clunky and confusing. I needed to read the comments to understand that I have to choose the wand and not the essence itself to heal the tree. A tutorial would be nice as well as a story to tie it in with the jams topic.
Looking forward to the updates
I just love where you went with the theme. A very unique and compelling idea.
The music fits really well and caries the heaviness of the story.
The artwork is simple but fits really well. Especially the background touches me and fits perfectly.
The game mechanics are simple and easy to understand even without a tutorial and make for some interesting puzzles.
However I could not finish bc the being hunted was just too much for me in combination with the already established tension but I do understand why this might be a necessary part of the story.
My one point of critique is that the intro story with Rain requires a lot of clicking continue and doesn't have the best readability. Putting that email into one block of text as if we are reading the actual email could pull one into the story more thoroughly.
I'm a bit sad that I couldn't finish the game but glad that I saw at least part of it. This is a really good entry.
