I don't see where you got the idea that I suggest making it more lax. I suggested having the KYC process before you publish a game if you want it to be indexed. If you don't want it to be indexed, it can stay whatever. Again, as you might've noticed, I never had that issue myself, and I'm here on behalf of the community. Don't give an excuse for leafo to let this go. Although he doesn't need one.

People posted here not to get their games indexed, but to flag an issue for you. I don't want to be rude, but what you're doing is completely unfair and just makes the only decent platform for hobbyist developers unusable. I don't know what you think you're achieving, but people are just desperate to get some attention, and you call it an "unusual activity" lol. Flagged for human review, we get it, you don't have staff to review things, but idk, add a notification at least? Implement some sort of KYC for the developers? I never dealt with that issue myself, I'm just here on behealf ot others, and what I've seen is kinda disgusting. Sorry, my dude. I know how it is, and you're gonna keep getting a steady flow of games, but for the love of people who are starting out, give them some kind of option 😒 IDK take 1$ payments to post the game without that issue or something if you have to.
I find that, overall, the way itch has been treating search indexation lately is mental. This is the last resort for indie devs, and if you look at /recent its still tons of crap, so I feel like, why even bother idk... A lot of games just aren't getting indexed for unknown reasons. IF there's something at play (like reports or something) could you at least somewhat surface that data?
You're in luck, I'm releasing a Steam game next year, here's a demo! https://store.steampowered.com/app/3730820/Dicewood_Demo
Hey! I don't have plans on updating this game in the near future :( But you can check out my latest game, the demo just came out today https://store.steampowered.com/app/3730820/Dicewood_Demo/
Thanks for this extensive review, it's really good!
I agree on all points, I had a rough (but fun) time putting this together alone so I just decided to roll with some imperfections on the initial release and see how it goes if at least the general direction is right, if people like the setting and stuff.
I'm thinking of a way of reworking the deck and the mana system. I've had some ideas after getting the feedback from this release.
Getting cards to combo or make them being used tactically in a bullet hell proved to be a surprisingly hard challenge that requires ton of iteration.
It's nice that you've mentioned One Step from Eden it's a great game, and I've been looking to make a more casual version of this sort of experience! Albeit I only found out that this game exists after completing 90% of this game.
Overall I'll be looking to improve things, thank you so much for your review again!
