Such a sick rendition of the cookie clicker! Seriously awesome, thanks for sharing. Only feedback might be to ask for "move camera" to be right click and "mine" to be left click, just so the camera isn't moving all around. Enjoyed!

Awesome! Visuals are great, core is fun. Would love to see more!

It was a bit hard distinguishing the frog enemies from the cool tile art and I did get stuck once when I accidentally pushed and enemy out side of one of the rooms. I still enjoyed playing, thank you!

Genuinely, such an awesome game! The art is so unique and integrated into the gameplay so smoothly. Had fun!

Love the spinning character. Definitely strange places.

Well done! So well rounded, graphics, music, controls and gameplay. Thanks for sharing!

Great art!

Our main man Gabe composed those! You'll certainly hear more of his tracks in upcoming games from Wrinkly Brain Studio. Thanks for playing.

Thank you, glad you think so!

Thank you for playing and giving a thoughtful response! I heard that feedback before for the dialogue, duly noted, hope to fix in an update. Yes, I can certainly lead the player to the last exit a bit better with some improved level design.

Art, voices, vibe, JOOS 10/10

Loved the art style, very smooth to play through and very strange, thats for sure!

Loved playing as a character come to life in the Godot IDE!

Cool game! Great aesthetic and fun abilities. The minigun is especially satisfying to spray. A little frustrating the enemies would shoot will offscreen but otherwise, really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing.

Great music, cool art, only felt the shooting and health mechanics didn't have much affect on gameplay. Thank you for sharing

Fun! Button layout was a little tough, but didnt take away from my enjoyment. Thank you for making it

Awesome art and a well executed UI design! The intro was cool.

Yay hampter! Thank you for including a jump, my smooth brain got stuck.

I'm a sucker for anything space related! Turning feels a bit tight/difficult. The music fits well.

Thank you for bringing it to my attention. UI scaling has never been my strong suit.

Dead serious, I really enjoyed the calcium out of this! I found it humerus, and although I have a bone to pick with how quick the spider is, it was a skele-ton of fun. Nice work.

The monster definitely made me jump! But I'm unable to leave the room in search of the green cube with how quick the monster is. Not sure if I missed something. A little nudge towards what to do or where to go at the beginning would go a long way if that's the case. If the monster isn't supposed to be that fast, is it possible the rate of the monsters speed is framerate dependent (not multiplied by delta during Godot's _process function)?

Thanks for playing and leaving a comment! I'm glad to hear this was your reaction. I wasn't really trying to make it a "scary" horror, more psychological, so I'm happy that sense of pressure came through!

Fantastic! Incredibly polished game!

Fantastic! I don't think I've ever played a better "first game" before. Loved the whacky, sorta uncomfortable art style, reminded me of Cruelty Squad a lot, and great animations! Super unique. And it was really funny! The elevator scene made me chuckle. Had strong Undertale vibes to it. Well done!

My only feedback would be to (possibly, because it works fine without it) include a small interact popup, so you know when you're able to talk or inspect things a little easier. Could also be diegetic, like Pip changes expressions, shape or does a little dance to minimize UI clutter, which you've done an amazing job of.

I see! Thanks for playing and helping me realize the questions aren't as inclusive as they could be! I'll go back to include alternative units to some of those. Also glad to hear you didn't cheat haha! Although, it is possible to do so...

Thanks! I appreciate you playing, glad to hear I can add some variety to the trivia game scene!

I hear you! Had some other feedback about the player shock effects so I'll try to revisit them to give it some more juice. Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed!

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I'm starting to understand the questions weren't very inclusive. I blame  my slaves   my friends who contributed most of the questions lol. I hope to add more from a wider variety of topics in hopes everyone will be able to come across questions they're more familiar with.

Thank you! Yes apart from the room, I really wanted to focus more on sound design and bring out the horror elements from that. Thanks for playing!

Nice! Using the flares to stop the wolf is a cool idea. The movement was a little quick and I wish there was a bit more control in the jump height, like releasing sooner to stop the jump short need be. Overall a cool platformer, nice work!

Definitely scary having a bedroom with no doors or windows XD. But seriously, the 3D/2D dynamic with your 3D assets used in both a 3D sense for the bedroom and a 2D sense on the computer game was neat! I would say the bugs did make it hard to get very far (Kept losing control of the computer character after switching scenes in the cave. If you hit T again in another computer scene, which I did oops, it sends you back to the start screen but without your character) but still, cool game! Looking forward to seeing more if you keep developing it!

Unfortunate side effect of itch.io sometimes. If you're on Windows, you can got to "Windows Security" -> "VIrus & Threat Protection" -> "Protection History" and allow the most recent "Threat Blocked." Then retry the download. Would not recommend doing this for anything else, obviously, lol, or even keeping it as allowed after the jam, but that's how I've been able to play games that happen to trigger this. Hope this helped!

Wonderful job on the environment and music! Much talent! Its got that comfortably uncomfortable vibe to it that I really dig! Looking forward to more if you plan on continuing development!

also, am I crazy? I don't want to give too much away in the comments but... the hair... :0

Nice tutorial, cool assets and love me a fantasy horror game. Had fun and well done!

Cool game! Awesome maze design. Although they were maze-like, it seemed they always led me back to where I needed to be. I liked the colored sections and although its a small change, it makes a huge difference for having a small sense of direction and keeping it fresh between areas. The box save points were a cherry on top! Well done.

Fantastic! Great art, unique take on the horror genre and well thought out mechanics, from balancing picture taking and hiding to plenty of audio and visual cues that keep the player informed without holding their hand. Gotta love Bush Guy Absolutely enjoyed it!

(1 edit)

There are many ways to end this game and understanding how the Subject behaves during the game is an important part of it. It seems you caught on. Perhaps its against the Proctors views but to sacrifice yourself is the most noble. Good job, and thanks for playing.

Great game! Hardly any jank and I loved the puzzles! The "mind" and time mechanics added some pressure, for sure, but sometimes I was confused as to why my mind would rapidly decrease in the light as if it was dark and I did lose a key after picking it up then reading a note, but those hardly dampened my enjoyment!

How did you make those cool text animations for some of the letters, like "unawnsered" in the ending text? Those were a nice touch! Was it using Godots BBCode for RIchTextLabel? Never realized it had tags for that! Thanks for teaching me something new.

Yes you got it! That was the original inspiration but I wanted to put a slight twist on it in hopes of making people think :) Thanks for playing and good job beating it!
