I played really far and saving the game didn't add a save file. I lost the progress and I'm sad now

I think the owl lady is up the ladder and I have a letter for her but she wont answer the door after I met her the first time. How do I get her to come out again? Also I've looked all over the park and can't find the note with the lock code, do I have to trigger something for it to appear or be found?
