Oh, it looks lovely! I mostly expected people to print the monochrome version (for practicality) but that full-color printing is by far the more source-accurate appearance for a brochure.

Much more engaging way to get people thinking about their characters as Characters than the standard Session 0 procedure, great idea.

BLACK IRON ENGINE is a tabletop roleplaying game suited for the standard 3-6 players plus GM campaign format. Take on the role of a memetic engineer, a dimensional architect, a cyborg electrician, or a psychonaut chemist. Play a talking gun wielded by another player character. Design your own equipment using nested modular components. Explore a city locked into an eternal 1989.

Pick it up if you like Control, The Matrix, or anything Philip K. Dick ever wrote. For more information, you can read an overview of the mechanics on my personal site: https://vorpalcoil.bttg.net/gears-of-the-black-iron-engine/

There is in fact no RNG during action resolution. You add up your modifiers and compare them to a difficulty value for the action (commonly your target's total modifiers) and the action succeeds if your total exceeds the difficulty. If it isn't high enough, you can add a negative effect (such as taking a condition or breaking equipment, each action type has a list) to give the check a bonus and succeed at cost to yourself.

And now Minus Spiral is indexed, so you can see it in searches. Truly, what a time to be alive. In celebration, I have dropped the price permanently beneath the prior sale price, and added 10 more community copies.

Minus Spiral is a tabletop RPG designed for one-shot sessions. It began life as a thought experiment: having read a game in which you were a god and your actions always succeed (with costs), I wondered if one could make a game in which actions always failed instead. This blossomed into a black comedy game about hapless player characters all striving for the same thing, and each failing in their own unique ways. Yet in the end, the one who succumbs to the most misfortune earns their happy ending.

I backed this on Kickstarter! Well worth it, too, the final product was nicely laid out with detailed art and a varied assortment of example monoliths to give the reader an idea of what they were making. Filled with enough content to spark the imagination but a slim enough volume not to overwhelm with crunch.
