Wow this is just all around awesome! Art, sound, style, just wow...

I did think there was a little too much frame stop on each enemy hit. Made the game feel a little laggy (or maybe it was lag). Still a wonderful game

Great game! Just the right amount of difficulty, great SFX, art, and level design! I liked how you could see the previous dead souls, and how yours would add to the bodies. Fantastic game all around.

Also, great quick tutorial!

Damn just missed the window to rate :( Good gameplay and sound! I liked the rythm based item lol

I liked the ability mechanic - made the gameplay more interesting. The movement did feel a bit clunky and slow though. Nice game though

Very interesting concept! I didn't get past the first puzzle, but I thought it was still a cool puzzle lol

I'd love to see an expanded version! Hit me up if you want a playtester

Really loved the art style and the music! I also liked the creative ways you can die! The only things I would add is player feedback for what's happening. Maybe a simple transition between rooms, and some kind of sound or other indicator when you die. I also would've liked to have an option to go back to the previous room. That would've made me feel a little more like I was exploring and not just clicking between 2 options. Overall great jam game though!

Nice game! Super cute. I was able to just spam click the whole thing in like 10 seconds though. May have been good to add a cooldown to the click, or penalize the player (if there was a score) when you don't find a critter. Solid jam game :)

Love the Dark Souls vibe of the game. I did find it a little hard to distinguish the mountains/walls between the regular walkable path, but overall fun/cool looking game. Impressive that you did all of this in such a short jam too

I liked the concept a lot. Would've been interesting if there were moving backgrounds to blend into, but this is great! Solid polish in terms of UI, art, sound

Art and lighting looks great! Great polish for such a short jam

The lighting looked really nice, and the whole game had a really creepy atmosphere, especially with the ambient sound effects. I was just waiting for something bad to happen to me lol

Platforming felt super smooth. Loved the shape switching mechanic too

Super fun! Went all in every round and one with 2069 gold. I liked the relic mechanic, and the art/polish is wonderful. Shoutout to making this in pico8 as well!

Thanks! Yeah, that deadline came up quick lol. I think I am gonna release a polished version of the game with some more content after the jam!

Thank you! I was proud of the muzzle flash lol. I think I'm gonna release a more polished version of the game with more monsters/content

Thanks! You're supposed to just walk around the cave and kill all of the monsters. Wish I had some time to put in game dialogue to hint at that

Thank you! Yeah I wish I had a little more time to polish lol

Deadline hit me hard too, couldn't polish much on my game either. The pulse wasn't the confusing part, I like that mechanic. I just couldn't figure out what distinguished the contents of each crate. I noticed there were different effects and symbols (I think?) But it was just too fast paced for me to figure out the pattern during gameplay. I didn't even notice the text you just mentioned lol. Maybe it's just a skill issue though...

Ohhh, I did see "arrows + Z" on the game page but I didn't put 2 and 2 together lol. I do think the polish is overall pretty good though

Pretty fun gameplay! I would've liked to have some SFX and a little more polish on art/animations. I also found it a little hard to figure out what was inside of the crates

I was able to get it to work on my Windows computer using the downloaded exe. It's worth the download

I was initially a little frustrated that the puzzles were so easy to soft lock if you move a square into the wrong space, but I later found it actually made me think really carefully about my movements. Once I got more branches, it also wasn't as frustrating since I could just go to another door. Overall fun game! I found it addictive to get the upgrades and see how fast I could move through the map. I liked your 1-bit palette and the atmosphere as well!

Just played it on the Windows build and it ran totally fine. Yeah, totally! I was on my linux laptop at the time which is why I was on the web build. I should be able to get on my windows machine tonight so I can give a proper review

Yeah, I definitely had too large of a scope for how busy I was this week and couldn't implement a lot of the polish and features I wanted :( I'm gonna be polishing it up for a more polished build on itch. Thanks for the feedback!

Art looks fantastic, and the movement system was interesting. I'm gonna imagine that's how pokemon move in the bushes from now on.

Aw man I was sad when it ended :( I think this could turn into a fun puzzle game

All around just awesome

First off, the art is super sweet. I got an error though. It wouldn't let me analyze the second sector in the tutorial, then I went back to the file system, analyzed the file that was previously there, once it finished, I crashed. See error in code embed below:

I think there is some kind of bug? I run the game and can see the cutscene text, but I don't see anything else. Once the game starts, it looks like this

I liked the direction you guys took the theme. I did find the platforming a little clunky, though. The character gained speed on landing, making it awkward to move between platforms. I also noticed that if you try to move through a doorway right after landing, the character wouldn't fit through.

Also, huge props for making this in your own engine!

Overall solid game. I noticed the flashlights would pierce walls, letting me look around corners though. I think it would've been more immersive to block the light on walls, since then you wouldn't know what's around the corner. I really liked the art style and concept though!

That's fair. I wanted to create a narrative leading up to a boss at the end which would've been "what's hiding in there", but I wasn't able to put enough time in for that. At this point I would just say you're hunting these monsters which are "hiding" in the cave.

Thank you for taking the time to play :)

Nice game! I do think you would've benefitted more from focusing on the racing, rather than the other mini games, but I liked the idea of doing tasks to calm yourself before the race. It added more emotion to the character.

Although the driving physics and mechanics weren't super polished, I actually liked how it felt bouncing off the edges of the berm, and slipping a little while cornering. I found myself replaying the race a couple of times to see how fast I could go (61.45).

Thank you, I really appreciate you taking the time to play my game and give some feedback! I'm definitely gonna keep working on this project, I have a ton of other ideas to add to the game.

The perspective on the trees was a great touch to make it feel like you're a creature crawling through the forest. The gameplay felt really nice, especially the ability to grab enemies and shake them with the mouse.

The only thing I would complain about is that I couldn't use the escape tunnels after finishing the preparation phase, so I ended up just sitting there for about a minute. Also, sometimes enemies would get stuck in the corner of the room, or on each other.

I see a ton of potential here if you decide to keep working on the game. Maybe adding a sneak mechanic, where enemies will lose sight of you and stop following you through walls.

Overall really great game jam game!
